Senators Reverend Warnock, Ossoff Deliver $1.7 Million in Federal Funding to Upgrade Housing Conditions in Atlanta

The $1.75 million in federal funds will be delivered through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Healthy Homes Production Grant program

This effort follows the Senators’ December announcement delivering new resources to upgrade housing units in rural Georgia

Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock: “Georgia children can’t grow and thrive unless they’re living in a safe and healthy environment. When we fight for the health of children across the Peach State, we fight for the next generations of leaders. I’ll continue working to ensure our schools and homes are hazard-free”

Atlanta, GA. — U.S. Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Jon Ossoff (D-GA) today announced new federal resources to upgrade housing in Atlanta. The Senators are delivering $1,753,802.27 through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Healthy Homes Production Grant program to the City of Atlanta that will be used to complete home repairs and remediation projects. Healthy Homes Production Grant awards help identify and repair health and safety hazards in homes, protecting children and families from dangerous housing conditions.

“Georgia children can’t grow and thrive unless they’re living in a safe and healthy environment. When we fight for the health of children across the Peach State, we fight for the next generations of leaders. I’ll continue working to ensure our homes and schools are hazard-free,” said Senator Warnock.

“Senator Reverend Warnock and I are delivering these resources to help improve the quality of housing for Georgia families,” said Senator Ossoff. “Working families in Georgia urgently need access to quality, affordable housing.”

“Safe, high-quality housing serves the foundation for essentially every aspect of life, influencing education, career trajectories, and overall physical and mental health. Thank you to Senators Warnock and Ossoff for securing these much-needed funds for Atlanta families,” Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said.

This is the latest action in Senators Warnock and Ossoff’s continued work to help Georgia families and homeowners.

In December, the Senators delivered Federal funding through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Housing Preservation Grants program that will be used to complete home repairs and rehabilitation.
