Senator Reverend Warnock: “I am thrilled to see the Brunswick community continue to benefit from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Senator Ossoff and I championed. This latest investment of more than $15 million in federal funds will provide critical infrastructure upgrades for the Port of Brunswick to ease vessel traffic and the flow of commerce at a major economic hub for our state”

Brunswick, GA – Today, U.S. Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Jon Ossoff (D-GA) announced $15 million in federal funding for upgrades to the Port of Brunswick. The funding was made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, legislation championed by Senator Warnock and OssoffThe infrastructure upgrades at the Port of Brunswick will improve operations, creating new economic opportunities and strengthening Georgia’s supply chains.

I am thrilled to see the Brunswick community continue to benefit from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Senator Ossoff and I championed. This latest investment of more than $15 million in federal funds will provide critical infrastructure upgrades for the Port of Brunswick to ease vessel traffic and the flow of commerce at a major economic hub for our state,” said Senator Reverend Warnock.

These upgrades to the Port of Brunswick will strengthen supply chains and support opportunity and prosperity in coastal Georgia and statewide. The bipartisan infrastructure law — the most significant investment in America’s infrastructure since the Eisenhower Administration — continues to upgrade transportation, water, broadband, and energy infrastructure across our state, said Senator Ossoff.

According to the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding will help GPA renovate and upgrade the Port of Brunswick’s East River Terminal—a project that includes demolishing and replacing the Berth #2 Main Dock, replacing half of Berth #3, and improving other infrastructure around the Terminal. According to GPA, the project is estimated to be completed by 2027.

Senator Warnock has been a strong advocate for upgrading infrastructure and safety at Georgia’s ports. In January, Senator Warnock led the entire Georgia Congressional delegation in championing a bipartisan, bicameral push for a study that would examine the benefits of deepening the harbor at the Port of Savannah. Additionally, in 2022, Senators Warnock and Ossoff’s Port of Brunswick Navigation Channel Improvement Act was signed into law to upgrade the Port’s navigation channel, helping increased shipping traffic safely navigate the Port.
