Washington D.C. — U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) secured two $250,000 grants to support growth and expansion of small agricultural businesses in Northeast Georgia. Mulberry Springs Winery in Hall County and Currahee Vineyard and Winery in Stephens County will receive this funding from the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Value-Added Producer Grant program to help invest in their business operations and increase capacity.
“I am laser-focused on creating jobs, bolstering our state’s economy, and bringing even more agricultural business to our thriving state,” said Senator Reverend Warnock. “I’m pleased to have secured these funds for North Georgia to help grow the Mulberry Springs Winery and Currahee Vineyard and Winery, which will create jobs and empower agri-businesses across the region.”
Senator Warnock is an avid supporter of the Value-Added Producers Grant Program, which offers planning or working capital grants to farmers developing farm- and food-related businesses that boost farm income and create jobs in rural America. This year, Senator Warnock pushed Senate leadership to fully fund the Value-Added Producer grant in the draft government funding bill.
