Washington, D.C. – Last week, U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) received the 2022 OCP Rural Champion Award in recognition of the Senator’s vital leadership and legislative efforts to improve rural life, support agriculture, and diversify the rural economy. Senator Warnock has worked in the Senate to improve rural Georgians’ access to health care, broadband and economic opportunity.
“I’m honored to receive the One Country Project Rural Champion Award,” said Senator Reverend Warnock. “As a voice for rural Georgians in the Senate, I’ve been laser-focused on expanding health care access, broadband connectivity, and desperately-needed infrastructure into every corner of our state. I’ll continue fighting to improve our rural communities, including by securing robust federal investments for clean water access, public safety, and rural economic development. Fighting for rural Georgia is easier with partners like the One Country Project, a steadfast ally in our work to advance opportunities for rural communities in Georgia and across the country. I look forward to continuing this important work.”

- Bringing in $13 million in federal funding for 29 rural community infrastructure priorities in Georgia.
