Washington D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) honored the more than 690,000 Georgia heroes with a Veterans Day video message reaffirming his commitment to serving Georgians veterans and their families, as well as ensuring the federal government is doing all it can for Georgia’s veteran communities. Senator Reverend Warnock is a stalwart champion for Georgia’s veterans and has worked hard in the Senate to improve the lives of Georgia’s veterans.

The son of a veteran and stalwart champion for Georgia’s veterans and military communities, Senator Warnock fought hard to pass the PACT Act, the largest expansion of veterans’ health benefits in decades. In September, Senator Warnock’s bipartisan Patient Advocate Tracker Act —legislation which will increase transparency and accountability at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for veterans who report concerns they experience with VA health care services—was signed into law and the Senator also introduced legislation now signed into law to address disparities in access to VA benefits. Additionally, Senator Warnock introduced legislation to upgrade standards of care in veterans’ homes, and he has demanded action from the VA to address a mail pile-up at the Atlanta VA that persisted for over a year. Senator Warnock previously worked to successfully pass his bill to study disparities in access to VA benefits, which is now signed into law.

Hello and happy Veteran’s Day!

As a voice for Georgia in the U.S. Senate, I am beyond proud to fight for our brave servicemembers and our veterans in Washington.

And, as the son of a veteran, I want to say thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who bravely answer the call of service, every single day.

Georgia is fortunate to be home to many veterans, the second highest per-capita state in the country. And it’s an honor to serve and advocate for them — for you — in the U.S. Senate.

I’m committed to fighting hard for our veterans in D.C., just like you fought so hard to defend our nation.

That’s why I was so proud to have passed my bill to ensure all veterans — regardless of race — have access to the VA benefits they earned.

It’s also why I introduced a bill to upgrade standards of care in veterans’ homes, to prevent future outbreaks.

And it’s why I demanded action from the VA to address a mail pile up at the Atlanta VA for over a year.

And more recently, it’s why I called out the political gamesmanship that some of my colleagues were playing, and worked hard to pass the PACT Act, the largest expansion of veteran’s health benefits we’ve seen in decades.

No question, it is our duty to stand up for the people who stand up for us.

Know that I’m committed to fighting for our veterans and making sure the federal government is doing all it can for you and for your families. Thank you for your service. Please know that you’ve got a partner in me.

Thanks so much and keep the faith and keep looking up.
