Stand-out Georgia State Representative and former Secretary of State Nominee Bee Nguyen named new State Director for Senator Reverend Warnock
Veteran organizer, strategist Meredith Lilly promoted to Senior Advisor

Washington D.C. — As he begins his first full six-year term, today U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) announced the addition of former Democratic State Representative and Secretary of State nominee Bee Nguyen to his senior leadership team. Beginning March 3, Nguyen will serve as State Director for the Senator, responsible for advising the Senator and managing his Georgia-based team. Additionally, the Senator announced that Meredith Lilly, a longtime counselor and his current State Director, was promoted to serve as his Senior Advisor. In this role, she will serve as a senior advisor to the Senator on issues occurring in both Georgia and Washington, D.C.
“Bee Nguyen’s deep love for the people of Georgia has been on display since her early days in the state legislature, and she has skillfully harnessed her passion and talents to move our state forward. Her panoramic knowledge of our state and the issues facing Georgians is an invaluable asset, and I’m so thrilled that Bee will continue serving the people of Georgia in her new role,” Senator Warnock said.
“Meredith Lilly has long been one of my most trusted advisors, and she has proven herself to be one of the most effective and talented organizers for the public good in the South. I’m excited to elevate her role in my office, and I’m grateful for her continued service to the people of Georgia,” added Senator Warnock.
A graduate of Georgia State University,Bee Nguyen made history in December 2017 when she became the first Vietnamese-American elected to the Georgia House of Representatives, as well as the first Asian-American Democratic woman to hold a state office in Georgia. Most recently, Nguyen served as the Democratic nominee for Georgia Secretary of State. As a leader in Georgia politics, Nguyen has been a vocal champion for issues regarding voting rights, public education, and criminal justice reform.

Meredith Lilly, Esq. is an experienced community organizer and a sought-after political strategist. In addition to serving in senior roles during both Senator Warnock’s 2020 and 2022 campaigns, Lilly has served as Senator Warnock’s State Director since January 2021. Lilly is a veteran political operative with extensive experience in Georgia and across the South, including senior roles with Obama for America, the Obama-Biden Administration, DeKalb County Commissioner Michael Thurmond, and political campaigns for former Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Congressman Hank Johnson (D, GA-4th), and more.
