Washington D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) is wishing Georgia’s Jewish community greetings in a new video message as the holiday of Passover begins tomorrow at sundown.
“Hello and greetings to the Jewish community in Georgia and across the nation. I want to wish you a happy Passover,” said Senator Reverend Warnock in the message of greetings. “This very special holiday, this holy season, invites all of us to think about our responsibility to our fellow neighbors and what we can do to help guide each person toward their own freedom. This is how we help build what Dr. King called the beloved community.”
As a member of the Senate Caucus on Black-Jewish Relations, Senator Warnock is a steadfast ally of the Jewish community in Georgia and across the country and is committed to combatting antisemitism. In December, along with colleagues on both sides of the aisle, Senator Warnock urged the Administration to execute a unified national strategy to monitor and combat antisemitism. Senator Warnock has supported efforts in the Senate to acknowledge those who have fought against antisemitism, supporting legislation that would award a Congressional Gold Medal to the last living Nuremburg trials prosecutor. As a longtime advocate for the Jewish Georgia community, Senator Warnock—who also serves as the Senior Pastor of Atlanta’s historic Ebenezer Baptist Church—hosted Rabbi Peter Berg from The Temple, another historic Georgia faith institution, to be the guest speaker at the Church’s recent 137th anniversary service.

“Hello and greetings to the Jewish community in Georgia and across the nation. I want to wish you a happy Passover.
“This very special holiday, this holy season, invites all of us to think about our responsibility to our fellow neighbors and what we can do to help guide each person toward their own freedom. This is how we help build what Dr. King called the beloved community.
“And Georgia is the proud home of a vibrant Jewish American community. I’m so grateful for all the work Jewish communities in Georgia are already doing across religious and cultural lines to help achieve Dr. King’s vision of building that beloved community.
“And know that I will always be right beside you in this quest for justice.
“I want also to acknowledge the conversation about the increasing levels of antisemitism that might come up at this year’s Seder table.
“Please know that as a voice for Georgia in the Senate, I am your ally in this fight, and I will always stand unequivocally with the Jewish community and against antisemitism.
“Dr. King said it best ‘injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.’ So let’s continue to build together a community that embraces all of us.
“Thank you so very much for all you do. Keep the faith and keep looking up.”
