“Greetings and hello to the Muslim community in Georgia and all across the nation. I wanted to wish you a Ramadan Mubarak.

“This holy month gives us a special opportunity for deep reflection on how we can create a better world, uplifting the marginalized in our communities.

“Ramadan provides a pause in our busy, fast paced world to pray, to spend time with loved ones and to contemplate how we can usher in a brighter future for the next generation.

“And Georgia has a vibrant Muslim American community that helps propel our state’s successes in the sciences, the arts, the business world, and so much more.

“I’m so grateful for the many mosques and Muslim communities in Georgia who work across religious and cultural lines to continue working, building together what Dr. King called the beloved community. Thank you so very much.

“Keep the faith and keep looking up.”
