Washington, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) released the statement below following Justice Stephen Breyer’s announcement that he will retire from the U.S. Supreme Court.
“For almost three decades Justice Breyer has faithfully served our nation’s highest court with honor and compassion, helping move our nation closer to our ideals on health care, voting rights and more.
“I take the work of confirming Supreme Court justices seriously. To that end, as a voice for Georgians in the Senate, I look forward to considering President Biden’s nominee to fill Justice Breyer’s seat based on their qualifications and merit.”
